Kalpitiya Critters!

One of the things I liked most about Kalpitiya was the rural feel.  There was a lot of green space, and the air was fresh.  I also loved all the critters!

Earlier, I blogged about street cows in Negombo.  In Kapitiya there were lots of street cows.  And beach cows!  And street and beach donkeys!!!!  So much fun!

Apparently, the donkeys might be wild, or belong to someone.  Either way, they are out on the loose.  Just hanging!

Pictures
1-  Why do you think there's a fence between the resort and the water???  Beach cows!!  Without the fence, there would be beach cows all over the resort!  Which would be kinda normal.  Since the resort is also a coconut plantation.  And each plantation seems to have a few cows to control the undergrowth.  That would mean cow poop too.  Maybe not a desirable resort feature??
2- A howling chorus of beach dogs!
2a - A beach donkey!!!  On the narrow piece of land used by the kitesurfers.
3- Some cool artwork on one of the cabana walls at Kitelantis.
4- A praying mantis, about 4" long, showed up in the washroom one night.  Very cool!
5- Maybe not beautiful.  But poetic?  2 dung beetles working together to move their perfectly spherical ball of cow poop.  The first time I see this for real!
