I should not have tried to identify these....I've seen some very pretty bugs here in Sri Lanka. The red and green jewels bugs are the prettiest so far. I found them around the swimming pool. Cool!
At night, on an evening stroll, I saw some snails doing the same. Fun! Except for if you step on one by accident in the dark. Crunchy, I imagine....
I made an attempt to identify the other bugs in my pictures. That was a mistake!!!!!! Because Google chose to show me lots of other bugs here in Sri Lanka that I don't want to meet. By the pool, on the road, and especially NOT up close and personal, like in my bed!!!!Pictures
1- The red jewel bug. About 1.5 cm long.
2- The green jewel bug. Same size about.
3- The snails were pretty big. 2-3 inches long. They left a slime trail that was even visible in the dim light if the road. Impressive!
4- Too hard to identify without seeing the unseeable....Impressive antennae! About 2 inches long.
5- Pretty grasshopper.6- This damselfly stayed on my skirt through a long tuk tuk ride. Had to take her picture!
