Today was my first day back at the Spanish English Academy (SEA). I was so happy to be back! Even if I didn't get much sleep before my first day of class...
It felt so nice to be back at the SEA! I so like Barbara, the owner of the school. She is very warm, fun, appreciative, and into her students. And I really like helping her teach. I'm lucky to be here. It's a great way to give back to the community, and to meet interesting locals.
It was especially nice to be back at the school, and to help because Barbara broke 2 ribs on December 30. She's OK. But still recovering. She can do most things, but I help by writing on the white board and talking sometimes instead of her, to give her body a break. And we have lots of fun together!
I didn't get much sleep last night, before my first day of class, for two main reasons. Last night, I enjoyed my first "happy hour" a Jeannie's, followed by a late-ish meal at the pre-Carnaval fair. I only found out that my first class would be at 8 am today, when I arrived home last night at about 11 pm, kindof all wired up from a fun evening out. So I fell asleep late and slept lightly for fear of missing my alarm clock. I had my second class at 6 pm today. I think I'll sleep well tonight!
